Curatolo Zibibbo 2013

The grapes come from a single vineyard, located in Western Sicily, near Camporeale, just east of Marsala at about 350 metres above sea level. The vines are planted east facing following the vertical trellis system on sandy and clay rich soil and guyot pruning.

During the flowering stage, the humid conditions cause a small reduction in bud setting, however during the maturation stage this allowed perfect phenolic maturation of the grapes, resulting in very good fruit characters.

After de-stemming and cold maceration at 6 to 8°C for 36 hours, the grapes are subject to soft pressing before fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks (16-18°C) for 10-12 days.

Bright straw yellow with golden-green highlights. This wine has elegant perfumes of a Mediterranean garden - citrus fruit, orange blossom, sage, mint, white rose and acacia.  On the palate the wine expresses all the richness of the terroir and the elegance of this grape variety.  Perfect with all fish courses but in particular with oysters and smoked fish.
