Details

Ad Libitum La Grange Tiphaine, Natural Wine, Organic Loire Red, alive, soft, elegant, fruity but authentic, Delicious. Ad Libitum is a blend of Gamay, Cot (Malbec to you and me) and Cabernet Franc. A seemless red wine with no rough edges what so ever but packed with ripe fruits, subtle earthy notes and a long, lively finish. This little Loire red doesn't lack in intensity, something often said of Loire red wine. It is also very versatile, with the body for some grilled meat and the freshness and elegance to serve chilled. Excellent wine.

Coralie and Damien Delecheneau took over the family estate in 2002 and are now writing a few new pages in its long history. Harvesting everything by hand - the Chenin in successive tris - the grapes are gently pressed in a pneumatic press before being transferred by gravity to cold settle in inert vats in the winery below. Fermentations are very much plot by plot and mainly variety by variety – with the exception of a plot planted with a mix of grolleau, gamay and malbec that goes to make the delightful Tournage Riant rosé. The stars are the barrel fermented dry Clef de Sol Montlouis and red Clef de Sol Touraine - Amboise, the wonderfully rich oak-matured (and unfiltered) cabernet franc Bécarre and the remarkable malbec Côt Vieilles Vignes but all the wines shine with natural freshness and are immensely pleasurable. Certified organic by ECOCERT since 2008, and biodynamic by BIODYVIN since 2014.
