Bandol Rouge Domaine de Suffrene, organic conversion, natural fermentation, concentrated, aromatic, spicy Provencal red. All the red wines at Domaine de Suffrene undergo malolactic fermentation and none of them sees any new oak instead spending time in foudres. A natural with wild boar, saddle of lamb with herbs and truffles. Bandol Rouge has a beautiful deep dark red colour, the nose is rich with ripe and candied fruit aromas. Round in the mouth, it offers to the palate smooth and velvety tannins, finishing with persistent and spicy aftertaste.
Although he has only been bottling his wines for a few years, Cedric Gravier is already a superstar in the making. Domaine La Suffrène extends over 45 hectares across the communes of La Cadière d’Azur and Castellet. Vineyard practices are traditional from gobelet-trained vines to the strict vendange vert which keeps yields low, optimising quality and contributing towards concentration in the grapes when harvested. He also never masks with new oak. His wines are aromatic, profound and extremely well made. Although not a natural winery, Cedric makes proper, authentic Provencal wines and avoids superfluous intervention.
