Details

Ciabot Contessa Barbera d'Alba Fracassi, traditional style Barbera, great old Azienda, maturation in old Barrels, soft, spicy and full of fruit. A single vineyard in the province of Cherasco where Umberto Fracassi, now in his late seventies resides and still runs his small Albese winery. His wines are as warm as he is, and his Barbera d'Alba is a delicious cosy red for the Autumn and winter. Fresh berry fruits and spice tickle the tongue and Barbera's trade mark acidity cuts through. Umberto uses oak casks of varying size and age to mature the wine and releases it after a year or so in bottle. Delicious Barbera, very classic, silky, no vanilla or toastiness, the essence of Piemonte.
