A specially selected mixed case of red wines, all of which are over 13% and pack a punch in terms of flavour. Big, juicy and packed with red fruits. Perfect for red meats, or cosy evenings in.

Grimon Rioja Reserva is toasty and rich, packed with sweet fruits that are kept in check with some black pepper and spice from 24 months in oak. One of the best Rioja's we've come across. The Curtirussi is not a natural wine, but comes from a conscientious producer who aims for a healthy vineyard and authentic wines. It's rich, deep and spicy -with all the soft, fruit core that Negroamaro is good at, bolstered with 6 months oak ageing to add layers of toasty spice and complexity. Cecchin's Carignan is deep and earthy, with juicy black fruits. Not as heavy as some other Argentinian reds, but its structure gives it plenty of weight in the mouth. Evolution Red is a mystery blend that changes slightly with what each year brings, though Cabernet Sauvignon forms a large part of the blend. This wine is great fun, full to the brim with fruit, silky texture and a lick of sweet spice from a bit of oak ageing. The Cotes-du-Rhone from Domaine Aphillanthes is great; round and smooth but honest and gutsy. The Grenache gives those lovely ripe fruits, while the Syrah adds depth and structure. Irpinia Gioviano from Cancelliere is only a step away from some of the best Taurasi available. Highly structured tannin, leather, spice are woven into prune and dried fruit flavours. This wine is a beast, but can be tamed with some game or grilled red meats.
