Details

Bill Downie Biodynamic Petit Verdot 2015, biodynamic wine, 100% Petit Verdot, South Australia, fleshy fruit, rustic tannins, great value and individuality. Famous for his incredible Gippsland Pinot Noirs, Bill wanted to create a wine for more modest drinking and so found a fantastic vineyard near the Murray River in Riverland which he works according to biodynamic principles and which is planted to Petit Verdot. The grapes are hand harvested in the cool of the evening and by Bill's own admission, the wine simply made itself in the winery. Wild ferment in steel, the wines then settles naturally and is drained off and bottled without filtration, so simple and so good. It is bright, pure, generous and very tasty with exceptional length and freshness for an Australian wine of this price.
