Champagne Piollot NV Brut, Natural wine, Organic wine, artisan Champagne from the Cotes de Bars, Chablis soils, fresh, easy drinking and lovely. The NV Champagnes from Organic producer Piollot are deliciously easy and fruity wines. A blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, these wines outstanding characteristic is their freshness and drinkability. Although the wines are 30 months sur lattes, the autolytic flavour is delicate and the wines are only quite recently disgorged so are still very young. The potential for added complexity in the years to come is there as well. These are fantastic value champagnes, made organically and naturally in the cellar with a minimum of intervention, Roland Piollot is a humble artisan and the price reflects his modesty but belies the quality of his wine making. The Brut has 6.5 grams in the dosage so low for a Brut and the wine is very well balanced showing a touch more body than the Extra Brut, ideal glass for someone who doesn't like the wine too dry but also likes freshness and finesse.
