Chateau Fourcas Dupre, Bordeaux, left bank, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 44% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot. It is vinified under temperature control in a combination of wooden and stainless steel vats and is aged for 12 to 18 months in barrique (1/3 new). Classic Medoc. The wines age very well, the 2011 although not an exalted vintage is excellent value and drinking nicely now showing plenty of maturity from an earlier drinking vintage.

Patrice Pages is the nephew of the late Marc Pages of La Tour de By. Chateau Fourcas Dupre is a 44 hectare property situated in the Commune of Listrac, with vines averaging 25 years old. The soils are a mixture of gravel and sandstone which originates from erosion of the nearby Pyrenean mountains. The soils are particularly poor and also very free draining so roots plunge deep into the subsoil and this contributes to the great quality of the wines and also a distinctive firm, mineral quality.
