Details

Connoisseurs Choice Pulteney 1998, Highland Whisky, first fill bourbon barrels. This expression from the Pulteney Distillery has been bottled from a vatting of just 2 casks after 19 years of ageing. The nose is balanced with note of cured meats, subtle smoke and crisp fruits, with a smooth and creamy palate, underlined by fresh zest and a subtle hint of sea-salt. The Connoisseurs Choice range represents passion for single malt Scotch whisky, which has been at the heart of Gordon and Macphail for four generations. This range is an ever changing collection of unique perspectives on distilleries’ own bottlings, non-chill-filtered single cask and small batch expressions bottled at cask strength and exceptional one-offs. For the malt whisky explorer, it promises a journey of discovery through different flavours, finishes, strengths and vintages.

For 120 years, Gordon & Macphail have been building their expertise in buying and ageing whiskies from some of the finest distilleries in the world. The company started life as a small grocery business, which moved into whisky specialism. Today, they are world-leaders in malt maturation, sourcing high quality and interesting malts, matching them with the perfect wood for ageing, and also producing their own spirits, before distributing around the world. With their unrivalled connections and expertise, they have an impressive portfolio encompassing a variety of respected labels as well as their own.
