Details

Cremant de Loire Domaine de Veilloux NV, biodynamic wine, Chardonnay/Menu Pineau, Champagne Method, Fresh and Zingy but with delightful creamy texture. The Crement de Loire is sublime in its light refreshing natural taste and texture, zippy yet frothy, it is a lovely alternative to cheap Champagne and much nicer! Cremant de Loire Vielloux is made from a blend of 50% Chardonnay, 50% Menu Pineau. Made in the traditional method, it has a light fresh elegant nose of citrus and yeast with a textured palate that finishes with a fabulous zip of crisp acidity. Poor quality Champagne at this price is sickly and unpleasant, try Cremant de Loire for a fabulous alternative. Once you descover it, you will want to keep drinking it.

Based in Fougères sur Bièvre, Domaine de Veilloux is a family owned estate of 20 hectares of vineyards. The original domaine dates back to the 18th century when they produced all kinds of agricultural products like cereal and livestock as well as vines. Today, Domaine de Veilloux is owned by Michel and Silviane Quenioux with their son Arnaud working in the vineyards. The estate is managed according to natural principles using local grape varieties like Menu Pineau, Sauvignon Blanc, and Gamay. The soils are mainly made of clay but with little differences according to the plot eg clay with sand or clay with flint which make subtle differences in the final wine. Veilloux wines are respectful of their terroir and grape but also natural production and old vines yield wines which take time to mature to their full potential and even the whites are best at 5-10 years of age.
