Dry Furmint Dobogo, biodynamic grapes, creamy, expressive and cristalline white wine from Hungary. This is one of the most unexpected white wines you will taste. The fruit comes from 35 year old vineyards in Betsek and Szent Tamás in Mád. Yields are extremely low, one kilo per plant and after hand hervesting, a wild yeast fermentation ensues. The ferment is in old barrels and subsequent battonage and ageing for one year takes place. This aromatic varietal produces a young, intense, highly mineral wine with a creamy texture. The taught acid structure balances the lively pear, lime, quince and salty, mineral character, which lingers on the elegant finish. A great Burgundy alternative.

Dobogo is a small family run winery which operates on five hectares of first growth vineyards in the volcanic heartland of Tokaj. It belongs to Izabella Zwack, She aims to present Hungary's wine scene as vibrant, fresh and exciting, as well as adhering to the traditions of the region. The vineyards, planted with Furmint, Hárslevelű and Muscat Lunel, on soils of volcanic origin, are farmed using biodynamic principles. They make both classic Aszu wines, as well as the elegant and expressive Dry Furmint.
