Hermitage Cognac 2005 Grande Champagne

- To declare a vintage in Cognac is expensive and hard work. Barrels need to be inspected by the appellation and then sealed in wax. So it is only done when the vintage is very good and the estate feels it is worth it. The results can be the best and most precise Cognacs. The Hermitage 2005 is a delightfully vivacious cognac and a typical example of an excellent vintage from this estate. Delicious flavours of mocha, toffee and tropical fruit.Hermitage Cognacs are a range of very special cognacs that have been obtained from the cellars of small producers. All the cognacs in the range are either vintage or with specific ages and have been kept in their barrels until at their peak. There will never be large quantities of these cognacs and in some cases maybe only a few dozen bottles remain. All of them have been carefully selected to provide variation and interest.
1701 Franciacorta is a 10 ha biodynamic certified winery.
As members of Renaissance des Appellations they follow biodynamic farming methods for all their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyards. They produce Franciacorta Brut, Saten and Rose and a Vintage Dosaggio Zero in exceptional years. The range also includes Sullerba, a semi-sparkling Chardonnay 'sur lie' which is great fun, totally un-touched during the wine making and excellent value.
