Jurancon Meteore Clos Larrouyet 2017, biodynamic wine, Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng, stunning purity, fruit and freshness. Wow, what a bottle of wine this is, first tasted very recently, still a very young vintage so will develop beautifully over the next few years. In youth, the wine is racy and energetic, with soft stone fruits, minerals, tension and length. The Manseng varieties give a satisfying bitterness on the finish, superb for fish dishes, but Meteore is so pure and so well balanced, as an aperitif it is fantastic. The Magnum will keep very well indeed.

Clos Larrouyat is known for its powerful fine wines, which are made using biodynamic principles with the utmost respect for both grape and soil. Maxime Salharang began work on the 3-hectare estate in 2011 in honour of his grandfather, Roger Larrouyat, having previously learned the art of biodynamic winemaking while at Domaine de Souch. It is located on the pebbly soil of the Ossau valley. Maxime's wines are taught, precise, fresh and deep, truly exceptional examples of the Manseng varieties.
