Kelley Fox Mirabai Pinot Noir, biodynamic, light, silky, Oregon Pinot Noir. This exceptional Pinot from the Dundee hills of Oregon is light, almost pink, subtle, but with silky tannins and a structure that is so closely woven it is seamless. Kelley only made 13 barrels of this wine, 12 of which came from her old vine vineyard Maresh, with its volcanic jory soil, and the last barrel coming from her Momtazi vineyard which has marine sedimentary loams, lending a tenser acid backbone to the grapes. A really polished example of Pinot, where so many New World examples can be overblown.
Kelley Fox takes a very spiritual approach to her winemaking, preparing her biodynamic remedies herself and always remaining in tune with her vineyard. Her winery focusses on Pinot noir from self-rooted, dry-farmed, old vines of the historic Maresh Vineyard in the Dundee Hills of Oregon, and Momtazi Vineyard (Demeter certified).
