Description

Details

Owned by Jean-Louis Bouchard, with winemaking overseen by Valerie Courreges, Chateau Fontainebleau was a forgotten plot of vineyard gold until 2009. Since then, using biodynamic principles, the vines have been revived and winemaking has begun again. The 27ha of vines benefit from a natural amphitheatre and a unique terroir of red pelite, to create wines of finesse and quality that are typically Provencale.

IGP Mediterranee Ma Cuvee Blanc Vermentino Chateau Fontainebleau, biodynamic wine, 100% Vermentino (Rolle), soft whites fruits, oily texture. It is a warm, slightly oily texture and works beautifully with soft goats cheeses and olive oil. The aromas are more tropical than citrus with ripe pear and just a whiff of 'Herbes de Procence'.

IGP Mediterranee Ma Cuvee Rose Chateau Fontainebleau, biodynamic wine is a blend of Cinsault and Grenache with a taste of Pure Provence. The Rose Ma Cuvee has the lovel aromas of provence, with peach and strawberry on the nose with subtle notes of garrigue. The palate is superb, soft, clean, bright and well balanced, the ideal summer aperitif or with provencal dishes like fish stew or simple toasted bread with tapenade.

Ma Cuvee Rouge Chateau Fontainebleau, biodynamic wine is a blend of Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon. The red is fresh, medium bodied and food friendly, with plenty of red fruits and supple tannins. Great with grilled meats or enjoying on its own. Also very nice served chilled.

The Ma Cuvee wines are from the Var region of Provence just north of Brignoles. The name of the 16 hectare estate comes from the proximity to the river and the abundance of water in the subsoil meaning the vines suffer from less water stress in the height of summer and this helps the ripeness of the fruit and the delicacy if aroma

A great case of natural, healthy wine to usher in the warmer warmer weather, nothing challenging, just great easy, organic drinking. Cin Cin.
