Menetou Salon Les Blanchais Pelle, Organic, full, minerally, citrus Loire Sauvignon. Les Blanchais is a full bodied Sauvignon from 40-year-old vines, a touch more vinous and more complex than the Morogues. Astonishingly pure mineral nose (slate), grape-pith and crystallised lemon on the palate, beautiful persistence and a rapier thrust of acidity.
The Domaine Henry Pellé cellars are nestled at the foot of the sloping hills in the village of Morogues, central Loire. The vines grow in Kimmeridgean clay, limestone, marls made up of myriads of minute fossilised oyster shells called locally 'terre blanche' or white soil. Out of respect for the terroir the estate practices organic viticulture (promoting healthy soil, and a living environment with natural fauna). This also helps to promote the minerality in the wine coming from the unique terroir.
