Details

Monbazillac Jour de Fruit Domaine de l'Ancienne Cure 375ml, botrytis sweet wine, honeyed, nectar, delicious half bottle for dessert or cheese. Monbazillac has a long history (known as early as the 14th century) and is one of the world’s great sweet wines. The vineyard on Monbazillac hill is positioned on limestone interbedded with molassic sands and marl and the special micro-climate of its position on the north-facing slopes is particularly conducive to those autumnal mists which harbour the microscopic fungoid growth called botrytis cinerea or noble rot! This little bottle houses a superb value organic stickie, a fruitful, honey and blossom fresh nectar which with some roquefort and Pate will have you munching and sipping for hours.

Christian Roche is the 5th generation of his family to take on the vines at l'Ancienne Cure, and since he took over, has worked hard to convert the winery to organic production, and are now producing excellent quality wines under 9 appellations around Bergerac.
