Our first pop-up focused on all things Italian, in a nod to this year’s rather exhilarating Giro d’Italia; while our second provided an introduction to food and wine pairing- serving excellent examples of both, but also teaching fundamental principles about how to pair successfully at home.
This time, we are focusing on that inevitable seasonal shift. While seeing summer begin to slowly transform into Autumn, can bring a little melancholy, (do insert your own, ‘what summer?’ here) from a food perspective it’s a wonderful time. Produce-wise, a bounty appears, as some summer ingredients remain, but heartier foods begin to return; bitter leaves, pumpkins and nuts, to name just a few. From a wine perspective, we can begin to put away the pale rose’s and those ‘patio’ dry-whites and begin to look to, for our solace, those richer whites, darker oranges, and spicier, fuller reds.
