Novas Reserva Cabernet/Carmenere Emiliana, organic wine, full bodied, soft dark fruits. A deliciously dark, muscular food wine. A deep coloured classic blend of Carmenere and Cabernet, reflects dark fruit aromas mixed with soft toasty notes. The palate is intensely rich with lots of herbal flavours a touch of mint. For me the best of the Novas stable.
Emiliana is one of the world’s biggest producers of organic and biodynamic wines and the largest in South America. They have a whopping 997 hectares under vine in the valleys of Casablanca, Maipo, Colchagua and Cachapoal of which 923ha are IMO certified organic and the remaining 77 in conversion. Their biodynamic vineyard and winery at Los Robles is a model that attracts visiting viticulturists and winemakers from all over the world. General Manager José Guilisasti and wine making consultant Alvaro Espinoza were key to establishing this project to convert a large commercial winery into a commercially viable organic one. Although huge, Emiliana manage to make wine following many of the principles that a small natural grower would hold dear. The resulting style of wine is international and fruit driven but none the less excellent examples of that style.
