Henri Milan Papillon Blanc, Organic, 0 added sulphur, complex, expressive. Sans Soufre Ajoute from Henri Milan is basically his signature Grand Blanc white wine without any added sulphur. But the simple withdrawal of the preservative completely transforms the wine. Grand Blanc (also delicious) is a wine which needs time and drinks best at 5-8 years from the vintage where as Le Papillon - so called because of the distinctive butterfly on the label - is for early drinking. The wine is un-protected and so it releases quickly all of the terroir character of Provence, confit fruit aromas of peach and apricot mingle with herbs, lavender and minerals. This is superb white wine and has such fantastic personality, you truly just want to keep quaffing. The low natural sulphite level will mean your head won t feel it either! Henri is pleased, he is a Frenchman who likes to drink!
