Pinot Noir Basis Enderle & Moll 2018, Natural wine, Baden region, superb Pinot Noir from Pinot Noir specialists, fresh, feminine, bursting with fruit, delightful. The youngest vines go into this entry level Pinot Noir from Enderle and Moll, bristling red fruits, slightly sour red cherry and crunchy palate. An elegant Pinot Noir, perfect for summer drinking, perhaps slightly chilled on a warm day.
Sven Enderle and Florian Moll met at wine school and after travelling separably to learn their craft at various wineries in Germany and abroad, they came back together to jump on an opportunity to establish their five hectares of vines in Munchweier on the slopes of the Black Forest in Baden. Here the soils are sandstone and limestone and are capable of producing Pinot Noir with lift and elegance and also different terroir expressions. Sven and Florian bottle 5 different expressions of Pinot with some 60 year old vines at the Muschelkalk and Buntsandstein vineyards. They work their vines biodynamiclly and ferment and age the wines in barrels sourced from the Dujac estate in Burgundy. However, they are not aiming for Burgundy style wine, rather their own unique expressions of light and elegant Pinot Noir which is atypical for the area of Baden.
