Akashi-Tai's Shiraume Umeshu Plum Sake (rice wine) is a luxurious plum liqueur made by preserving plums in the finest of Japanese Sakes — premium Ginjo Sake made from Yamada Nishiki rice. Equally pleasant on ice or blended with either cold or hot water. This is also a delicious and very sweet dessert wine alternative. Fantastic with mince pies and all manor of Xmas treats, it also goes well poured over ice cream.
Akashi-Tai brewery has been brewing since 1886, and they still brew by hand with the expertise learned by several generations of family run business. Since Kimio Yonezawa took over they have put the emphasis on innovation to bring their quality Sakes up to date. We currently stock 4 of their range.

Tried this for the first time this Christmas. The sake went beautifully with christmas pudding and was equally delicious as a liqueur like, sipping drink. Highly recommended.
