Chateau Bouissel

Located in the South West France in Fronton, tucked away between the Pyrenees Mountains in the south, the Atlantic Ocean in the west, and the Mediterranean sea in the east, Chateau Bouissel benefits from a delightful climate with little rainfall and lots of sunshine producing healthy grapes. Its 25 hectares of vines offer a rich diversity of grapes varieties, from the highly aromatic ancestral Negrette, made from old vines which yield silky tannins, to the peppery Syrah and velvety Malbec. The estate is run entirely according to natural principles by Nicolas Selle who took over from his father in 2008 and his wife Isabelle. The Selle family have run the farm for more than a century and are firmly rooted in the traditions of the region and its local grapes. Their historic terroir and the new direction taken by Nicolas towards natural farming have yielded amazing results which were recognised in 2015 when the Chateau Bouissel 2011 was classified as one of the best 35 wines in the world at the Decanter world wine awards. Awards aside, these are delicious elegant French classics.
