The Colonge estate in the commune of Lancié, run by brothers Landry and Samuel, has been in the family since 1789, and straddles four appellations: Fleurie, Beaujolais Villages, Brouilly and Beaujolais. The harvest is still done by hand, and the grapes undergo two sortings to ensure only the best quality grapes make it into the wine. They still use indigenous yeasts and work with respect for nature, though not following a 'natural' regime per se, producing wines of terroir and sustainability.
