Paolo e Lorenzo Marchionni

Paolo and Lorenzo Marchionni's winery is located in the area of Chianti Colli Fiorentini, on ideal lands for grapes and olive-trees - stony and well draining, made up of limestone, marl and clay. The average slope is steep at almost 15%, with much steeper slopes further up which maximises exposure to the sun. Cool nights and strong breezes help to preserve the acidity and freshness in teh grapes. There are just 5 hectares of vineyards and all the lots are attended to with the utmost care, using organic principles on the vines. This approach is also carried on in the cellar, never using selected yeasts and with a minimal addition of sulphur dioxide. Sangiovese accounts for about 70% of the surface area of vineyard, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot making up the rest. The vines are manage by Paolo and Lorenzo themselves who believe that only with passion and sacrifice can they achieve important and long-lasting results. Paolo and Lorenzo are dedicated wine brothers and produce natural wines with style and elegance that are in no way funky but are just easy and delicious to drink.
