Tenuta Stella is in the Collio in the province of Gorizia near to the Slovenian border. The estate is just 10 hectares, with vineyards on steep terraces, planted with Guyot training, giving a low yield of 40 quintals per hectare. Viticulture is all organic. Classic regional varieties of Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia and Friulano are fermented with natural yeasts and low levels off sulphites are added to the wines. The wines are full and textured with exceptional drinkability and depth considering the modest price point.
