Tinpot Hut

Inspired by the sheep farming origins of her Home Block vineyard, winemaker Fiona Turner has named her range of wines after the historic 'Tinpot Hut', a Marlborough landmark frequented by local high country musterers. Made from grapes grown on her own Blind River vineyard along with selected parcels of fruit from the Awatere and Wairu Valleys. As a winemaker Fiona focuses on producing wines that are true to variety and express the characteristics inherent on the vine. The Home Block's dry and sunny yet cool climate site in Blind River accentuates fresh, vibrant and aromatic intensity with a distinct mineral complexity to the wines. As well as this, Tinpot Hut have been awarded the New Zealand Sustainable Winegrowing logo. In 2016 their Sauvignon Blanc was given a near perfect 98 points in Decanter, and in 2017 they were also in the top 100 for the category in Sydney's International Wine Competition.
