VDF Pierre Precieuse Domaine Bain Domaine Bain, (formerly known as Pouilly Fume!) biodynamic wine, flinty aroma, classic yet wild and generous. Delicious and stylish wine from Pouilly Fume, fresh and tangy Sauvignon Blanc, minerals and notes of blossom, orange and a flinty firmness characterise a wine of true purity! This is very complex Loire Sauvignon yet it is so easy to drink glass after glass after glass. Alex Bain is not fond of his appellation and its rules and control so he opts out for now, who knows it might be Pouilly Fume again in the future!

Adam –
Pretty darn rich for an SB, and “classic” in the BV description doesn’t really capture it (though “medium bodied” gets closer).
Fruit was heading from lime and lemon zest towards pineapple and kiwi, but the main thing that jumped out for me was the wonderful relationship between the acidity and the kind of chewy texture presumably resulting from refusing to fine and filter.
Feels like a supremely food-friendly wine. Hopefully they let AB back into the Pouilly-Fume appellation – that boring [stuff] needs him.
