Anjou Rouge Maupiti Terre de l’Elu MAGNUM, Biodynamic wine, Gamay, Cabernet Franc blend, elegant, rich and very long on the finish. Specialising in red wines, Clos de L’Elu produce fabulous opulent wines with depth and fiesse from their small vineyards on schist soils in Anjou. The Maupiti on schist and quartz soils is whole bunch fermented in concrete vats and then aged for 6 months on the less in the vat. It is a wine of such lush delight that we have not found anyone yet who does not love the wine. We are in the Loire, so not a brash warm climate red this one, the colour is medium and lightly hazy – unfiltered – and the nose and plate are soft, enveloping and express ripe red fruits, spices and warmth. Will age very well in Magnum.
