Chardonnay Leon Bottes Rouge, biodynamic wine, 100% Chardonnay, still young but with bracing acidity, this Chardonnay will age beautifully. The soils are clay-heavy and they harvest the grapes at the end of September. Grapes are direct press into 3,000litre foudre for alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. Then, they rack the wine into smaller, 440 litre used oak barrels. Jean-Baptiste reckons that this is a wine which will age very well. In youth, it is very fresh but with notes of Chardonnay and Jura terroir coming through.
