“Bandol Pour Louis Tempier MAGNUM 2017 Biodynamically farmed currently undergoing certification. Domaine Tempier founded in 1834 located in the heart of the Bandol appellation in Provence. This glorious 38 hectare estate spreads across several plots nestled between the sea and steep sundrenched slopes. Soils are predominantly free draining clay-limestone, calcareous and sandy marl.
75% Mourvedre, Grenache, Cinsault and Carignan. Grapes are hand harvested, sorted in the vineyard and in the winery, destemmed, crushed before beginning a spontaneous fermentation using native yeasts. It is then matured for 18-20 months in oak casks providing some of those classic secondary flavours synonomous with a quality Bandol.
Deep ruby appearance with intense dark fruit aromas and some forest floor and tobacco thrown into the mix. Really well balanced with the usual power you’d expect from a red from this appellation, but also with a degree of elegance and finesse with beautifully integrated tannins.
