Beurot Terre Burgondes Emmanuel Giboulot, organic and natural wine, 100% Pinot Beurot, barrel aged, creamy and delicious with fresh acidity. An age old local Burgundian variety, Pinot Beurot is a strain of Pinot Gris which was historically planted in Burgundy but which has virtually disappeared. It was planted by Paul Giboulot, Emmanuel’s father in the 70s in the area of SAINTE-MARIE-LA-BLANCHE, just outside the classic Cotes de Beaune area. They only produce this very small quantity of this wine in good vintages. The wine is naturally fermented in oak and then aged in barrels for 12 months with natural malolactic usually taking place. The wine is a unique balance of freshness, zip and acidity and a lovely mouth coating warmth, richness and nuttiness which reminds of Pinot Gris. It is not Chardonnay but is very definitely white Burgundy.
