Blaye Blanc Mattieu Cosse, natural wine from Bordeaux, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle, maturation in barrels.  This superb little white comes from 2 hectares in the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux with Sauvignon and Muscadelle growing from the limestone clay overlooking the Gironde estuary.  All the work done by Mattieu and his friend Jérôme Ossard, fellow wine maker and Bordeaux resident is done following natural principles.  Yields are kept low and as a result, the wine has a delicious round soft texture and concentration of soft stone fruits, beeswax, ripe white pear and a delicious muskiness.  A lovely white for fish with cream sauces.

Created in 1999, the Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve is the result of the association of two talented oenologists and winemakers: Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve.

Both took over a 5 hectares estate in Prayssac near Cahors which was planted with old vines of Malbec (also known under the name of 'Cot') and started making wines, well determined to produce genuine wines. They work biodynamically and the wines have a genuine sense of place and style that is lost in so many of the wines from the region.
