Cahors Le Combal Cosse Maisonneuve Magnum, biodynamic, 100% Malbec, elegant example of Cahors, fresh and moreish. Created in 1999, the Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve is the result of the association of two talented oenologists and winemakers: Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve. Both took over a 5 hectares estate in Prayssac near Cahors which was planted with old vines of Malbec (also known under the name of ‘cot’) and started making wines, well determined to produce genuine wines. They work biodynamically and the wines have a genuine sense of place and style that is lost in so many of the wines from the region. Malbec can produce big tannic wines but it also has some subtlety as well. The natural production for Cahors Le Combal means the wine is fresh and firm as well being full of dark fruit and spicy scents. In the Magnum this wine will age beautifully and over a winter roast dinner, a magnum of quality Cahors is simply perfect!
