Chardonnay Leon Bottes Rouge Menigoz, biodynamic wine, 100% Chardonnay, still young but with bracing acidity, this Chardonnay will age beautifully. The soils are clay-heavy and they harvest the grapes at the end of September. Grapes are direct press into 3,000 litre foudre for alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. Then, they rack the wine into smaller, 440 litre used oak barrels. Jean-Baptiste reckons that this is a wine which will age very well. In youth, it is very lively, elegant and with superb minerality and layers of complexity. As it matures the deeper notes of the Chardonnay and Jura terroir will start to show through. However we think this is absolutely delicious wine to drink now.
