Cosse Maissoneuve was founded in the late 1990s by Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve, with both contributing a wealth of experience in viticulture and oenology. Initially taking over a 5-hectare estate in Prayssac with 40-year-old Malbec vines, they then embarked on the path to biodynamics, rejecting synthetic inputs and viewing their vineyard as an interconnected ecosystem. The reward for their labour over the years are wines which always display a unique harmony and freshness.  Despite the boldness of the Malbec grape, these are wines of complexity and elegance. They are interesting and at the same time, almost universally liked by those who taste them. They are also excellent value for the quality contained within each bottle….

Created in 1999, the Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve is the result of the association of two talented oenologists and winemakers: Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve.

Both took over a 5 hectares estate in Prayssac near Cahors which was planted with old vines of Malbec (also known under the name of 'Cot') and started making wines, well determined to produce genuine wines. They work biodynamically and the wines have a genuine sense of place and style that is lost in so many of the wines from the region.
