Cotes du Rhone Les Oliviers Estezargues, hearty, full bodied, fruity, Natural Grenache blend. The Les Oliviers is Cotes du Rhone with great character and plump fresh fruit, named after the cold wind that is funneled through the Rhone Valley from the North. Like its sister wine, the Cuvee des Galets, it is made with no intervention, wild yeast and no fining or filtration. This is pure gutsy Rhone, a bit ‘Sauvage’ round the edges, imagine a large terra cotta jug of the stuff with some stew of wild boar in a blustery winter night when the mistral is blowing and you get the picture. Very moreish and very good value.(Previously Terre de Mistral, Les Oliviers for the 2020 vintage)

Les Vignerons d'Estezargues is a super little Co-Op located near Avignon.

Like other Co-Operative wineries, they receive grapes from members and use them to make bulk wines, usually Grenche, Syrah and Mourvedre. Here they work a little differently though, as since 1995 they have been making natural wines, and not just gimmicky, box-ticking natural wines - proper natural wines. Only indigenous grapes are used here, no filtration, no fining and an absolute minimum of sulphites. Whilst not certified, the growers restrict chemical use on the vineyards. Working in this way allows them to produce wines of incredible character but at probably the best price you're likely to find for a wine like this.

Ordered this wine from Buonvino online after trying it in a restaurant. (very good price and delivery service, by the way!).
It has the depth of flavour and hefty alcohol you expect from a Rhone red but none of the heaviness. It is quite fresh tasting and fruity. Not a great wine or a very special experience, but a very pleasant everyday drinking wine without vices. Tastes as natural as an organic wine should.

We both very much enjoy this ‘nearly’ Organic wine .
Please keep it in Stock ( although we are not big drinkers so perhaps a case a year will do!!!)Very pleased to find it again almost locally.

Deliciously drinkable, full and flavoursome without overpowering. Tastes as ‘real’ as a natural wine should. A more Expensive drinking experience than the price tag implies.

Very good honest Cote du rhone. It features in my orders at Buon Vino. And I’ve had many compliments on it rom friends not used to natural wines.
