Dole La Liaudisaz Marie-Therese Chappaz biodynamic wine from Switzerland, Gamay, Pinot Noir, classic Valais red wine, smooth, stylish and delicious. Dole is the traditional red for Sunday roast in the Canton du Valais. It is a lovely soft easy red wine made from Gamay and Pinot Noir. In the hands of Marie-Therese, it becomes a more serious wine with the capacity to age and a finesse and cool precision rarely achieved in the region. Aromas of Morello cherry, gooseberry, almonds and sweet spices characterise the nose and develop in the elegant palate which is both silky and firm. The finish is complex and leaves you thinking and wondering how the wine would develop after some bottle age. Any roast meat but best with white meats and stews made with rabbit, chicken or veal. The new 22 is an exceptional vintage, in the words of Marie-Therese…
‘….The black cherry accompanied by a hint of menthol caresses our noses during the first encounter with this Dôle 2022 which is above all elegant. Yet it is a wine that has chewiness while revealing itself to be unctuous in its dark ruby color. La Dôle 2021 had delighted us for its delicacy and its accessible side in youth; Dôle 2022 is a wine of character, more powerful than its predecessor and cut for aging while knowing how to be enjoyed young.’
