EARLY SUMMER WINE TASTING – SAT 20TH JUNE – 6.30PM
Ahhh the sunshine is finally upon us! It is with a certain caution with which we welcome some hot, dry weather here in Yorkshire. Temperatures are unusually high and with our connection to the land (through our growers) and continued concerns about climate change, we celebrate these Mediterranean conditions with a sense of concern. Nevertheless, our thoughts are turning to delicious summer wines, crisp refreshing whites, cool Roses and light reds we can serve chilled. So our June shop tasting (or warehouse depending on weather conditions and numbers), is designed to showcase some of these wines from natural growers whose raison d’etre is high quality yet EASY drinking. Many of the wines in the line up are recent additions to the Portfolio.
Of course this superb tasting of very high quality wines will be served with a selection of cheeses from the Courtyard Dairy alongside fresh Sour Doughs and Focaccia from the fabulous Aumbry bakery.

What a great way to find summer wines ! We sampled a wide variety of regions and countries and a scale of prices all with a summery profile. We really enjoyed hearing about the regions, wine producers and styles. Looking forward to more tastings !
