Epicuria Cabernet Sauvignon DOMAINE DE LA ZOUINA 2022 located in the foothills of the Atlas mountains 120km from Rabot is Meknes, from which the finest wines in Morocco are made. Luscious and fertile land coupled with milder temperatures than what one would have thought by virtue of its altitude culminates in some high quality examples from this 115 hectare estate

Interestingly the estate is owned by 2 French partners. Gerard Gribelin (ex chateau Fieuzal) and Phillipe Gervason ( L’Arrivet Haut Brion) noticed significant potential on a golf trip in 2001 and acted very quickly as by the end of 2002 they had formed a partnership and planted 65 hectares of vines!

There is a unquestionably classic Cabernet Sauvignon character running all the way through it. Both powerful and seductive with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, raisin, dark chocolate and a jamminess, but at the same time retaining an elemnen of elegance. All in all this is a well balanced full bodied, classy red wine simple as that!

In 2001 Gérard Gribelin and Philippe Gervoson fell in love with Domaine de la Zouina.

Struck by the richness of the terroir, the particularity of the soil and the climate, they were certain that they could produce unique results and so they decided to translate their passion and wine-making savoir-faire from Pessac-Leognan to Morocco. Gribelin has now been making wine in Morocco for over thirty years. His son Christophe now runs Zouina. To maximise the efficiency of the vines the work in the vineyard is meticulous, though not necessarily natural.
