Evolution Red Sokol Blosser, secret blend, cherry, raspberry aromas, medium bodied Organic red. Evolution Red, an evolutionary red wine made from mainly Syrah but with a load of other grapes and maybe some black gold as well! It reveals aromas of cherry and red plum, notes of ripe raspberries, a hint of cinnamon, and has a finish that is long and juicy. It loves food and goes with anything but seems most at home with an array of grilled meats, well it is American.

Bill and Susan Sokol Blosser planted their first vines in 1971 in the Dundee Hills as part of a hippie dream.

Back then there was no Oregon wine industry, driven by a passion for quality Pinot Noir, which they knew would thrive in the climate. Now Dundee, in the heart of the Willamette Valley, is the epicentre of Oregon Pinot Noir. Sokol Blosser estate vineyards are farmed organically and the wines made naturally. Local organic straw, organic cow and horse manure, grape pomace from the crush and organic rock phosphate contribute to the composting. The insect population is kept in check by a resident flock of bluebirds! As well as that, they are leaders in sustainable business practice, using renewable energy and biofuel on the estate. The Evolution Range was born out of niche for quality blends. Producing a proprietary blend like Evolution is a combination of art and science. People always joke around, asking whether it was created on purpose or if they just blended leftovers and it happened to work, which is why "Luck VS Intention" features heavily on the label.

  1. David W

Great fun, juicy, fruity, not too heavy. Ideal for drinking with friends when you don’t want something too serious.

  2. Richard

Well made, straightforward (as expected). Very enjoyable indeed.

  3. Richard

Very well made, enjoyable everyday wine. Not particularly complex, but I wouldn’t expect complexity in this price range.

  4. Francesco Fantinel

Secret blend in which Shiraz take a good percentage. Easy drinking red. A bit towards green-ish notes. Steamed cabbage and green peppercorns. As the wine opens up the red fruit comes up more intense. Not astonishing yet good for an easy meal
