Faustine Red Abbatucci from Corsica is a stunning biodynamic red wine, with class and style.  Like many such biodynamic wines, (one thinks of Casot de Mailloles or Gut Oggau), Abbatucci’s wines are delightfully fresh in youth and have an acid backbone that makes the mouth water.  This is what gives the wine longevity and of course makes it so fresh and drinkable. The flavours of the Faustine Red are unique.  Corsica has its own special character, somehow both southern French and Italian at the same time.  They make Faustine Red Abbatucci  from Nielluccio which is Sangiovese in Corsica.  The flavours are similarly sour cherry and red fruits with notes of herbs and leather.  With a few years in bottle, this wine takes on a richness and suppleness that fills the mouth and makes you want to keep drinking.

Situated in South Corsica in the Taravo valley, the domaine Comte Abbatucci was founded in 1950. With 18 hectares of vineyards planted on granite slopes at 100m above sea level, the domaine is a veritable museum of Corsican viticultural history and heritage.

Current winemaker, Jean-Charles Abbatucci, has moved towards biodynamic principles and also joined the association 'Renaissance des Appellations'.

The domaine grows a delightful range of indigenous grape varieties such as: Vermentino, Niellucio, Sciaccarello and Barbarossa. Jean-Charles Abbatucci is a proud defender of tradition and the environment - a true veteran, marvelously reflected in the wine.
