Frappato Pianogrillo Terre Siciliane IGT 2024

Frappato Pianogrillo Terre Siciliane IGT 2024, organic wine from near Ragusa in Sicily.  A wine that bursts with morello cherries, wild strawberries, rose, pepper and sicilian soil.  On the palate the Pianogrillo Frappato is pure Juiciness, medium-bodied with cool red fruit, gentle tannins and bright, slightly mineral finish.  12.5% abv, you can safely have a couple of bottles, also try it chilled!

The Pianogrillo farm is centuries old, nestled in the hills of the Sicilian interior, overlooking a green plain known as “Piana dell’Acate”, within the ancient county of Modica and Chiaramonte (nowadays Province of Ragusa). The wine farm is younger with the new state of the art winery being built in 2014. Vies date back to the 1980s and are planted to the classic varieties of the region, Grillo, Grecanico and Carricante, Nero d'Avola and Frappato. Viticulture is organic and wine making is low intervention, fermenting with natural yeasts and aiming for clean fresh wines of precision and fruit.
