Glen Scotia Double Cask Single Malt Campeltown Whisky, Pedro Ximenez cask finish, rich toffee, vanilla, sea salt. The Double Cask is first aged in bourbon barrels before being finished for up to twelve months in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. As well as the sweet, sticky edge the sherry casks provide, there is a characteristic sea spray and vanilla oak finish, with some lovely charred aromas from the bourbon casks. There are hints of creme caramel, toffee and soft apple. Weighty and rich – definitely punches above its weight in terms of price/quality ratio. A delicious, great value whisky from Campbeltown, that’s versatile and thoroughly enjoyable on its own.
