Joe Chandellier- bringing youth, energy, and dynamism from the Languedoc. Based in St. Côme à Maruéjols, situated in the Cévennes part of Languedoc in the South of France, Joé carefully tends to 5.5 hectares of vines, planted with Carignan, Amaron, Grenache and Syrah, some of which are over 100 years old.

His range of red wines includes three blends, all involving Grenache, Syrah, Carignan and/or a lesser-known Languedoc grape, Aramon. Use of whole bunch and carbonic macerations, and ageing in fibre glass tanks, ensures that it’s fruit purity and lightness that takes centre stage, almost defying the climate in which they are grown.

Before establishing his solo venture, Chandellier worked under the tutelage of Alain Allier at the acclaimed Domaine Mouressipe. Alain Allier is himself a disciple of none other than Eric Pfifferling of L'Anglore, creating a lineage of winemakers producing naturally made, soft, utterly drinkable wines that have a concentration, yet a delicacy to them.

In 2019 Joé Chandellier ventured out to create his first independent releases. He has a staunch commitment to organic farming and a dedicated approach to natural wine production, creating wines that truly capture their terroir. Such attention to detail and commitment creates expressive wines that have the utmost purity. The only addition is a small amount of sulphur at bottling, if absolutely necessary, ensuring the wines are as authentic and unadulterated as possible.
