La Cueva Pais Blend Hodgkinson, natural, Pais, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, ‘Vin de Soif’ entry level only in price, not in quality or drinkability. Unfined, unfiltered and very low in sulphites for a wine of this quality. What a find and great achievement, to make such a superb little drinkable red that ticks many of the boxes on our natural wine lexicon and comes in well under £10. The fruit is soft and juicy, dry, structured, but no harsh tannins. There is good acid balance and lovely fresh finish. La Cueva Pais is a real crowd pleaser of a natural wine, ideal for parties and get togethers or a Thursday night Pasta.
