Les Beraudies Cosse Maisonneuve 2022

Les Beraudies Cosse Maissoneuve, natural wine, South West France, clean, crisp, fresh elegant white, very easy drinking, very friendly, perfect Spring/Summer drinking.  This delightful new wine from highly respected natural wine maker Mattieu Cosse is a super easy quaffer made from Ugni Blanc, Sauvignon and Semillon on Limestone soils from the Béraudies parcel.  It has subtle stone fruits and delicate floral notes, lovely light texture but will enrich with a couple of years ageing in bottle.  Will go with absolutely anything, or just delicious to drink on its own.

Created in 1999, the Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve is the result of the association of two talented oenologists and winemakers: Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve.

Both took over a 5 hectares estate in Prayssac near Cahors which was planted with old vines of Malbec (also known under the name of 'Cot') and started making wines, well determined to produce genuine wines. They work biodynamically and the wines have a genuine sense of place and style that is lost in so many of the wines from the region.

Matthieu Cosse's new project is in the Cotes de Blaye region of Bordeaux.  The wines are made in collaboration with an old friend of his, Jérôme Ossard, who has been working in Bordeaux for over 24 years with winegrowers who want to really make the most of their best plots of vines. These particular cuvées come from plot selections of vines with a very high potential thanks to the quality of the terroir, resulting in exceptional grapes that in turn, produce high quality yet affordable natural Bordeaux wine.
