The son of a wine merchant and a lover of fruit, Gilbert Miclo created the eponymous distillery in 1962 in Lapoutroie in Alsace, at the foot of the Vosges.
From the beginning, the choice has been made to favor the quality of its eaux-de-vies over quantity, to offer spirits with the greatest flavours and aromas. This region is well known for its high concentration of fruit trees, which has spawned a number of distilleries, of which Miclo is one of the best.
