Monfarina Domaine Giachino, natural wine, local grape, crisp,100% Jacquere, crisp, lean, fresh with sometimes a hint of funky richness. A local variety that makes crisp, elegant wine. Monfarina in particular has in youth a steely, mountain stream like personality. The acidity is bracing and fruit very clean. For an interesting alternative to Chablis from one of the lesser known corners of France, Monfarina Domaine Giachino is a great choice. “Monfarina” comes from the name of a traditional dance the ‘Monfarine’ from Savoie and Piedmont, hence the little dancing fella on the label. Most vintages have lower alcohol too so you can sink a couple of bottles without feeling to bad about it!
