Monfarina Domaine Giachino, natural wine, local grape, crisp,100% Jacquere, crisp, lean, fresh with sometimes a hint of funky richness. A local variety that makes crisp, elegant wine. Monfarina in particular has in youth a steely, mountain stream like personality which mellows after a year or two in bottle. The acidity is bracing and fruit very clean. For an interesting alternative to Chablis from one of the lesser known corners of France, Monfarina is a great choice. “Monfarina” comes from the name of a traditional dance the ‘Monfarine’ from Savoie and Piedmont, hence the little dancing fella on the label. Most vintages have lower alcohol too so you can sink a couple of bottles without feeling to bad about it!
